Details
The experimental XM28E4 "Grasshopper", a rare Vietnam War mask. Development began in 1966 on a slimmer, packable alternative to the M17 for tunnel rats clearing tunnels flushed with CS gas. After four revisions the XM28E4 arrived in 1968 and went to some tunnel rats, pilots and MACV-SOG personnel.
Almost entirely silicone, with large eye lenses and the elongated shape that earned its nickname.
Specs
- Silicone facepiece, large eye lenses
- Size small
Collector's piece: designed only for riot control agents like CS gas. It is not a CBRN mask.
