Wilcox G24 Lite
The Wilcox G24 Lite low profile breakaway mount is the new industry standard for night vision helmet mounting. Similar to a standard G24, this mount utilizes the superior and much more rigid Dovetail shoe interface, which replaced the older Bayonet shoe interface.
The breakaway feature can be turned on or off using the built-in button. When the breakaway feature is turned on, if the unit is subjected to significant and unexpected force, the mount will simply pop off its base, drastically reducing the potential for neck injury. When turned off, the mount will stay rigidly attached to the helmet regardless of the application of force.
The Wilcox G24 Lite is 5.2 ounces versus the standard G24 at 5.9 ounces. The travel distance is the same for the G24 and G24 Lite.
The G24 Lite does not contain magnets, unlike the standard G24. The magnets used in the standard G24 were designed for compatibility with a now-discontinued product from Wilcox. The omission of magnets allows the Wilcox G24 Lite to save weight and space.
